Our inaugural meeting was hosted on Friday, March 27th at 9pm ET. For the first session, we focused on Scottish Malt whisky, and specifically the island of Islay.
About Islay
Islay (pronounced Eye-lah) is an island off the West Coast of Scotland, in the Inner Hebrides.
Many whiskies from Islay are renowned for their peaty, salty, smoky taste. Some notable ones include Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg. One distillery, Bruichladdich, is famous for Octomore, which is the world’s most routinely heavily peated malt whisky.
